About Me

I am Samuel Lécrivain, a French photographer based in Hangzhou (China).

Daydreamer, my mind always wanders in high atmospheres. I decided to become an Engineer to design vehicles like planes or rockets, anything that can bring people to unknown dimensions. After my engineering school, I found a job in Hangzhou while walking on the hills a foggy morning. China was the country to explore, a place beyond imagination for me, a kid who grew up in the peaceful Britain moors.

But after a while passions started to fade out, and I was caught back by the reality of the industrialized world and by the easiness of the expatriated life. At first just a hobby, Photography came out to be my new motivation, my fuel. Hard to control, burning, sometimes blowing my mind, photography is for me a new way to explore what looks like boring and dull, a challenge considering how difficult this art is, and an exulting space where I can play notes of light and color beats.

I like to capture people, young or old, shiny or shy with authenticity and sincerity. I also take pictures of the wild, the elements that reminds us what we are: sparks of life.
